    Default Caulerpa Help........

I have caulerpa in my fuge and it has grown to where the tops of the plants are dying off from being exposed. Should I trim it back, just pull out the dying parts or what? How do you guys keep if groomed back? It leaves the fuge water looking nasty with grren slime gunk.....HELP

abe, are you going to make the meeting next week? if so, just thin it for now, don't cut it, cutting caulerpa is bad because you will release everything stored up inside it out the clipped ends... just grab and yank until it's not an issue. Then, when you come to the meeting, I will give you a big fluffy bag of chaeto. You can rip out all that caulerpa trash and use chaeto from now on.

Just rip of the top pieces. Sounds like you need more flow in your fuge, maybe add a Maxijet?

i used to pull it out one runner at a time, a little tedious, but if your carefull you'll have almost no breakage. that means no toxins released back into your tank.
