    Default Timer suggestions needed

Just got a 250W MH pendant from Greg H. at 360Reef, and it's great. The only problem is that when it turns on, it tends to trip the circuit breakers in my timers, so I'm manually plugging/unplugging it for now. I can't find a timer rated over 15 amps, which is the same capacity as my current ones. Can anybody recommend one that will handle the firing of the MH ballast?

    Thanks,

    Chris

I got mine at HD and they are rated for an appliance and are 15A. They have not ever tripped with 2 - 250W and the fans plugged in.

I picked up mine at WalMart and it is made by Ingraham. It is also digital and you can set different on-off periods for each day of the week. It also has a watch battery backup for when the power goes out, it won't lose its programming. I am going to be picking up some more in the near future for my other tanks.

    Chris,
Like Pete I run all of my lights on the cheap HD timers (I have a 400W DE and a 150DE plugged into one) without any problems. The problem may be that that particular circuit in your house feeds a whole bunch of other stuff and the DE ballast just send it over board. If you can I would reccomend plugging the ballast into a seperate circuit and see if it trips the timer. Just guessing here but I bet there is just to much load on that circuit.

There might well be... if that's the case I'm kind of in a hurting way, cause there aren't any other circuits that are accessible to the tank. I'll have to see what I can figure out.
