Things are finally getting good in the Pickle camp and I'm totaly stoked. I've been wanting to move to austin for the last few years but just haven't been able to make it happen. Well it's finally happening. My wife an I came to Austin durring the Thanksgiving holidays and we had a great trip. We came with 2 things in mind, landing jobs and looking for a house. Well we managed to accomplish 2 out of the 3 in just 1 trip. My wife scored the exact position that she wanted at Seton Medical center and we bought a house in Round Rock. Now I just need to find a job. I have a few prospects and a ton of confidence. I know that I'll get one soon. We even managed to buy a brand new house which we though would be totaly out of our range, but with the extremely low interest rate we didn't have any problems. Now to top it all off. I have a 40 gallon reef that I'm bringing with me when I move and I've been wanting a 120 for a while. I've been trying to catch a used one but keep missing out on them. I got kind of bummed out after we bought the house because I knew it would be a long time before I would get to upgrade tanks after making a purchase like that. I didn't really want to setup my current tank in the new house either because the stand and canopy are pretty crappy looking. I didn't want to drag something like that into a new house. So as usual I stay positive about it and taked to my father in law to see if we coulb build a new stand and canopy for our current tank. He's unbelieveable with wood working and loves doing it. He was ok witht he project, but fortunately he hasn't started it yet because this past weekend I picked up a brand new 120 acrylic tank. A guy that lives not far from me had built it himself and his wife said it was too big to put in their house so he had to sell it. I was a little weary of it at first because I didn't want it to fall apart on me, but after looking at it I know it's a good tank. The guy did an amazing job on it. He gave me the 120, a new 75 that he also made, and a 30 gallon sump all for $200. Everything is made out of 1/2" acrylic all the way around, even the 75 and the sump. I have no use for the 75 so I'll sell it and get some of my money back. I just thought I'd post to let you all in on my good luck and hopefully spread it on to some of you. We are really excited about finally getting to move out there. IF all goes as planned, we expect to pack everything and move out there before the middle of January. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed, the only thing we are waiting on is to close on the house and for me to land a job.
Good Day
