ive noticed in the image gallery that many of you have corals alongside a variety of anenomes. ive tried doing this but my anenomes all move around so much and sting each other and corals. i have gotten rid of most of my anenomes because of this but i would like to have anenomes caus i have a pair of percs, a saddleback, and a clarki and i like to watch them play. is there a trick to getting anenomes to stay put? or are you guys just letting them roam and hoping for the best?

Mixed clowns, Dont they not get along? Hymm, just something in my head.

Let them roam & find a spot it likes, then put the corals around. Then hope & pray it wont move again. ;)

I think the "trick" here is finding out what makes your anemone happy. Why are yours roaming around so much? Could be one or a mixture of any number of things....improper lighting, water flow, lack of food, something nibbling on it...
Once you have figured out what is bothering your anemone, it will pretty much stay put. They don't just roam for the fun of it, they do it because they are not happy. HTHs

Also, the type of anemone you choose and tank conditions make a huge difference. Bubble tips are notorious roamers no matter how happy they may seem, they are also mostly rock/glass dwellers, LTA's on the other hand, like to bury their foot in deep sand, once they find a spot they like, they rarely move unless conditions change, So if you dont have a sand bed, an LTA wouldnt be a good choice. Sebae's can be very difficult in captivity and only recommended for the more advanced aquarist... Good luck and thanks for asking before you make a decision....

I noticed you said anemon"Es" plural, are they all the same type? chemical warfare could be happening between different species, and some species of anemone are not natural hosts to clowns, and therefore may be moving because they don't like the situation.
"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind." ~ Jack Handey
