You would think Western Union would be wise to this and bust them on the other end. There is no free money, just goes to show you how people work. I would wonder why someone would want to way over pay me and send the rest back....

Me too when I was selling a snare drum. Some guy from austria said he would send me a check for $5000 and I would need to send him the balance. My question is, who in the hell would fall for this?!?!? I mean really, I guess people are just getting stupider.

Western union is an easy way to scam people, my friends Ebay account was used to sell (2) motorcylces, they had one of the buyers send the money via Western Union to the seller who supposedly lived in England, the "seller" cashed the money with a fake ID and there was no trace of him.

Western Union is a big problem. As far as a check clearing and then not clearing, it happens all the time. The bank has the ability to reject a check even after it has cleared. I think they have 8 days after the check is cleared to return it, but they can go back further than that if fraud is involved.

i once knew of a better site that scammed the scammers but for the life of me i cant remember it, was hilarious though. they would make the scammer send them pics of themselves doing stupid stuff like jumproping while holding a live chicken and the like. the majority of them were coming from africa.

ill keep looking for the link

Another common scam is someone will sell a motorcycle or car WAY cheap. When you contact them they will suggest using a 3rd party Escrow company and will send you the link. It looks VERY legit, but is just a fake website that will capture your info. If you do a DNS lookup you'll find that the website was just registered within the last 30 days or so and have all kinds of bogus info.
They'll scam as many people within a month or so and then create a new site and do it all over again.
Buyers and Sellers beware. If it sounds too good to be true.......IT IS!!!!!
