just added a 30 gallon fuge to my 135 gallon.I only have a few corals(mushrooms & polyps).Trying to battle hair algae & later on when I get better lighting get into more corals.Just wondering what algae to get & where to get it?Also any suggestions for lighting,I have two 96 watt pc quads right now.Want to add MH,maybe one for one side then add another when I can afford it.Any suggestions for wattage ,Ican rebuild my canopy if a retro kit is cheaper.please help I know nothing about lighting!

First off, good algaes for the fuge are "Macro Algae's". I your main tank is not a "tall" like mine, you coulddo well with a quad of VHO's 2x actinics and 2x daylight...letssay10k. This will be adequate for just aboutany soft corals andsome stony. Then, when you decide to jump to M/H, you can use all 4 for actinic or actinics and 50/50's. There are a lot of argument raging on the web over newer technology lights, but the initial prices of these new systems are too high for most people. Keep ur eye out for good deals on used equipment, or consider using DIY retro's. HTH Just my 2 cents
