    Default power heads

What is the rule of thumb when it comes to placing power heads in your tank? I have four maxi jet 1200s in a 100 gallon tank. Is that too many?

I wouldn't think that would be too many...I also have not heard of limits on power heads before but the main concerns are:

1 - heat - maji jets generally do not generate a lot of heat but depending on how hot your tank is running currently will tell you if you neeed to make adjustments

2 - electricity in the water - I would advise that you purchase a grounding probe since all power heads tend to leak a little current in the water
