Default anyone in SA have phyto culture to share?

Looking to start a simple phyto-reactor system, wondering if anyone has one going and can share some of their culture?

Hum, since I am re-doing everything maybe I should consider it? Can anyone point to a good link for setting one up?

Yeah, I had seen that allready, and infact, I am looking at the light plankton reactor on line, but for now, I am just going to do a simple soda boddle in a window or something to that effect, as I am planning on seeding a tank with life from my port aransas trip (no fish or corals, just algae, rocks, and whatever I bring back) the tank has been up for a week and is going through it's first diatom bloom, which could I think, be a good food.

Anyone ever ordered grunge plus or grunge lite from GARF?

I got grunge from Garf. It had what looked like a couple tiny frags of dead gorgonians and painted gravel in it and a couple live snails that I saw. But, there is a ton and I mean a ton of life in my reef and since I used only mined dry base aragonite in there along with a tiny amount of live rock rubble, I have to figure that a lot of the stuff in there came out of that grunge. It didn't look like much at first, but, after 2 years its so loaded with tiny pods and plankton like things its amazing and all thats in there lived thru the red bug treatment. Its still loaded big time. I'd recommend the grunge to everyone. Well worth it IMO.

I can give you a litte live algae culture for your reactor.

Thanks Instar, I think I am going to purchase some grunge, and some Grunge Plus, a few pounds a piece of each.

as for the culture, I have a dodge ram, I think ordering it and shipping it is still cheaper than driving out to see you... :( sadly, it's a bit expensive just going to the local gas station these days.

    sigh...

I thought you wanted phyto as in green water? If you want to pay for me to ship it to you from here, I can do that too. I have the Fedex account for just such things. I'm going to pick up a couple tanks in San Antonio, so if you want me to, I'll bring some live phyto to you. You can have it if you want it.

Larry, that would be great! when are you coming up? We can meet somewhere, and I am willing to pay you for your trouble. Let me know when your coming up, and I will see if I can meet you. I work mostly evenings, have wednesdays off, and work mornings on saturdays.
