I can't believe how much that puppy looks like a stuffed animal...extremely cute. Knowing the size of the sump, 60X18X19, it looks like he/she is going to be pretty big! Thanks for posting these photos, Tina. I just finished my first kalk reactor and will try to get some photos of it.
60X18X19, now that's what I call a sump, not like my 30 x 12 x 18 . What's the PVC tube for ?
The section on the right is a refugium. In order to control the flow through the refugium and to keep fuge water out of the skimmer, and vice versa, you split the drain line so that most of the water enters by the eggcrate, where the skimmer is plumbed, with the fittings on the left. But some of the water goes direcctly to the fuge, which then drains into the central section, along with the bulk of the drain water from the tank and skimmer. Then, instead of putting a bulkhead on the center section in the front and running PVC pipe to the return pump, I put this pipe so that water from the center section can exit the side of the sump, where there's a fitting to plumb the return pump. This way there's no need for plumbing in front of the sump. (you're actually looking at the back of the sump in this photo) This let me build the thing the full front to back width of the stand.
I have to ask... What kind of dog is that and where can I get one?!?
She is an Akita. The female's get to be about 100-110 lbs, and the males get to be 110-140 lbs.. I found the breeder through the internet and from previous investigation when I purchased my first Akita, many years ago. We waited almost 1 1/2 yrs for her.
hmmmm..... Im jelous of it all :( **** it why did I spend my money on a big screen![]()
Sump is going under the stand. Protein skimmer going outside of the stand to the right. Although, I am seriously thinking of getting austin aquariums to build me a new stand and canopy. Can you fit the sump in the stand or will it be going elsewhere
