    Hi All!
I am a newbie! I have been a web member for a short time. I have bought a few items from some of you. Thanks to those individuals!!
As a former small business owner, I know first hand how all of you feel. I had a electronics shop for about 5 1/2 years. I only had one bad check, and I knew the guy. Yes, I did call him and I did get my $$, and an extra $25.00. My bank charged me for his bad check. So, that was part of the cost to him for writting me that bad check and for my time to chase him down. No, I did not have a check service, they would charge you for each check that they would gauranty. And if someone had written me a bad check, I would have turned it over to the D.A. Yes, it usually takes a couple of years to get your money thru them, but you would get it. And foruntatly for me, I know the D.A. personnaly, and I am sure that she would of handled it for me. I did have a credit card service, and again they would charge you for each transaction, plus a monthly service fee, and lease of the equipment. And to top that off, if you did not do enough business for the month, they would charge you more for that month.
As for me being a "regular" working person again, I know how it feels from both sides of the street! Yes, it does suck, when checks are not accepted, but that is part of life today! No matter if the person had 10 ID's, they can still rip you off with checks and credit cards! Cash still is the best bargining tool! Money Talks, and B.S. walks!
I hope that I did not offend anyone!!

When I was a store manager at Domino's Pizza, we would get lists of bad checks for all of the San Antonio stores from the check processing company. We're talking about stacks of papers as thick as the yellow pages. Many were the driver's fault (not checking ID, taking business checks from residents, taking out of town/state checks, etc.), but most were from regular customers. This equated to tens of thousands of dollars in losses PER MONTH and a good chunk was unrecoverable (stolen, fake, out of town/state and closed or stolen, etc.).

I really don't blame AW or AA for not taking them anymore. I wouldn't.
