Default I need a CPU monitor repair.

Ok. My Computer monitor is on the blink. It will not stay on. It will power up for about 1-2 seconds and then clicks off. I am borrowing a neighbors monitor untill I gte mine fixed. If you know how to work on them , or just know something about them let me know. If you tell me it's a lost cause, I will just look for another one.

    Thanks

TAX, Id say trash it, sounds like one or more transitors, or processors is having thermal issues. Monitors are cheap nowa days, I have a spare 15" you can have if you want.

Ok. Yea it sounds like it is snapping when it shuts down. I never had a problem until I tried to turn it on this morning. It's a 21" that I use for gaming. I hate to loose it, but I guess I'll have to get another one. And thanks for the offer of your spare. My neighbor is letting me use one of his. He works at MCI as a Netwok Eng. and does all thier repairs and programing at home. So he has lots of spare stuff. Thank god. So I am in the market for one I guess. If you want to just get rid of it let me know. Or at least really cheap. I just cant afford this kind of break down right now. I just had to put a new engine in my truck that bent a rod the week before Xmas. Great timing. So it kinda figures. My B-day is tomorrow, so I guess I am going to expect this kinda stuff all year. LOL

Going from a 21" to a 15" is radical, but youre welcome to it, you can use it till you get another one. No problem. It works just fine.

Take the monitor and kick it. Does nothing for the monitor, but makes You feel a heck of a lot better. :-D
But then again it took me a while to figure out with "boot up the computer" they meant for me to switch it on. :o

what is the brand? Maybe its under warranty. Most monitors have a 3 year warranty for CRT and 1yr for flat screens.

I bought it as a Remanufuctured about 4 years ago. Maybe longer. It's a HP so I needed a better one anyway.
