    Is there apurpose to having the numbers of views listed, it's 6:40pm, at 6:19pm a post i had read had 1 view and 21 minutes later it had 183 times. No other post had more then 4 or 5 views, does the # of views keep the post higher or does this viewing do something to your stats, if any?

    Josh explained it perfectly.

    The number of views simply gives everyone an idea as to how many people are taking a peek at the post. This is a built-in feature to just about every flavor of bulletin board software out there these days.
