HQI or Mogul Based?

I know that eletronic ballasts are more efficient than magnetic ballasts, but what is the difference between HQI and Mogul based? I think that the HQI bulbs are just the double ended bulbs, right? All I know about HQI bulbs is that they have to be put behind UV glass because they put out UV light. Any info will help. Might just head up to the meeting, if I have time, I have to work :(

HQI is not a type of bulb, just a ballast type. The double ended bulbs require an HQI ballast to run. But, some mogule based bulbs benefit from the use of an HQI ballast, also. You're correct with the double ended bulbs needing a UV shield; the larger mogule base bulbs have an integral shield, the outer glass sleeve.
