    Default Mantis Shrimp Question

Got one of these guys in my tank and actually saw him out and about under the rock yesterday. It looked like he was gathering substrate up in his claws and pulling back somewhere, then he'd come out and do it again.

Any idea what he's up to? Just curious.
I do want to try and get him out also. What would be something good to stick into a trap of some sort that he'd love to go after?

their quick and smart, I've seen and heard of DIY traps and a million other ways to get him out, the easies way would be if he was in a rock you could pull out and run some freashwater over it, He'll come running out!! If you do catch him and don't want him, I'll give him a good home, been try'n to get one for a few months now, most people kill them:(

No, I don't want to kill it. I was thinking of putting it in my fuge, it's a really cool lime green. I may try the bottle trick with a piece of raw shrimp and see how that works out. Probably just end up with tons of worms in the bottle.

keep the bottle in the tank for about a week so the mantis will get used to it, then put food it, if you don't it will never get near it! once again their very smart, and can be very painfull
