    Default Picky anenome?

I have a LTA that has been in my tank for about 5 months. It's been eating well, until last month. Up until then, He'd eat the occasional flake that landed on him from the fish, plus a small chunk of defrosted fish. He'd grab the fish and pull it into his mouth. Lately, however, he doesn't seem to be doing well. He will react to the fish chunks being placed in his tentacles, but after a few seconds, he relaxes and lets it fall out. Could he be tired of what I'm giving him? I have to admit, the fish I'm giving him is from the grocery store; it's called "blue hake". I've no idea what kind of fish that is. Also, I store the fish in the freezer, but it's been in there at least 4 or 5 months. Maybe the fish has freezer burn, or it's the wrong kind of food for him. If this is not the best for him, what is?

Funny you say this Moonrs - I have a Rose BTA that up to 2 days ago was eating silversides quite aggressively. In the last 2 days he has let the fish go from his tenacles and the cleaner shrimp then steal it. Wonder if it could be the change in weather????? Anyone else have an opinion on this? Gonna try again tomorrow and see what happens.

How are your water conditions? Are you doing your water changes? Usually this is a sign of something wrong and the anemone is stress or going bad....... It could also just not be hungry..... They only need to eat 3-4 times a week. Mine still eat every day though, but I feed a variety of foods. I don't think they can taste and probably are not too picky.

I feed my LTA raw shrimp from HEB . I cut it up into small chunks and freeze it . Don't buy to many of them that way they won't get freezer burn.

I'll try the shrimp idea. Hope it works. I'm really trying to make sure He makes it. Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't tested my parameters, yet, but I'll do that when I get home tonight. BTW, im, I usually only feed my bta twice a week.

One idea to keep your shrimp from getting freezer burn is to freeze them in ice cubes in an ice cube tray.

Just melt the whole cube when you need some. I put 2-3 shrimp in each cube.

Fed mine a silverside this afternoon and he took it...but held it for a while before inhaling it. Managed to lure the cleaner shrimp to another part of the tank so they wouldn't steal it while the anemone was deciding yes or no...
