Calling a Shelby a Ford is like calling a Maserati a Chrysler.

OK OK... Enough with the Ricer talk. I get mistaken for a ricer almost daily. Yes I do drive a Civic SI in the Electron Blue Pearl with all the factory options. Including the Wing. Big Wing.. but factory. Yes I can take most v6 domestic wannabe muscle cars and I am mostly stock. I do not believe my grocery getter, econo box belongs on the track but where is the hatred for these wannabe rally sedans like the WRX and Evo?

oh yeah... I rolled 60K on it just tonight.

and my project car begining next summer will be a 58 Chevy belair wagon or 52 ford truck... if i can't talk my cousin out of the 68 camero.

I pray daily for the 68'

I don't consider the WRX or EVO 8 ricers even though they have those ridiculous wings that serve no real purpose. But those cars were truly designed to race and they have what it takes to do it, running low 13's stock they are quicker and handle better then a mustang GT stock for stock but the wing has to go.

I agree, the wing has to go. Take a look at my dragster, no wing right, and how fast am I going. When we were running the juice and turning mid to low 7's at 170+ we used a wing, but it actually slowed the car down about 9 mph and about .2 seconds. It was more stable, but nothing you couldnt handle without the wing. My point is that you have to ve traveling at quite a high speed to even get any effect. I know an obscene amount about the design of air foils, wings, jet engines for sub-sonic and super-sonic use (turbojet engine, Ramjet, SCRAMjet etc....), engineer with NASA. I beleive the wing is purely for cosmetics. I am not knocking anyone for having a big wing, but I think it is a waste of weight, replace the weight of the wing with weight of an NOS system and more cubic inches.

nice rail! i sometimes go up to the texas motorplex for fall nats, and cruise the pits. last time i was there, i got 2 connecting rods autographed by "Big Daddy" and Kenny Bernstien, i also got to shake hands with John Force, Scotty Cannon, and got their autographs too! I think its great how the drivers and owners hang out with the fans! it makes for a great day! I love drinking my beer with tire rubber floating in the foam!

I saw a Mclaren F1 at the motorplex parking lot once and needless to say my jaw dropped. I snapped a few pictures of the car and have never seen anything better then that in real life.

It was a Grey Mclaren that had (2) stickers one on each side that said "God Is Awesome". The car is owned by a Drag Racing team owner.
