Hey Daniel, if you want to get better sound, you should look at selling those 6 1/2's and look at getting a Full-Range box that has the tweeters facing up like in this one from Crutchfield http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...c=01&avf=N
Also, if you want, I got a 25 dollar certificate layin around somewhere that you could have.

I disagree with getting better sound. They will probably be louder, because of the bigger driver and some tweeters if you have enough power for them, but you will be seriously lacking on midrange. BTW, if they are just an average set of coax's, selling them will probably only yield 20-30$$$

Those boxes are nice for adding a little low end kick to what you already have, but the tweeters are crap and cannot provide enough midrange. On top of that, all the sound would be coming from the rear. They will also require more power, and should have an amp on them, or they will probably distort pretty bad with the deck power.

Depending on what kind of 6.5's he has, he will be better off just putting them in his doors. If they are coaxials, they will cover the full range of frequencies and will probably be loud enough to please him, and he can spend the money he saved on reef stuff....cs

I should've said better sound than just the 6 1/2's behind the seat. When I recommended the box I figured he might already have some smaller speakers in his dash and adding a box like the one I posted would add a little bit of lows plus a little bit of highs from the tweeters that are in there. He would be saving money just putting them in his doors and they'd sound good and all but I just figured it might save him some labor and he wouldn't be having to make holes in his doors. JMO though...

Oh yeah, I was also tryin to put a good 25 dollar discount certificate to good use!
