    Default Phytoplankton culturing

I'm thinking about setting up a phytoplankton culturing system. I would also like to try to use it to culture rotifers and and brine shrimp. Is anyone in the group doing this or have experience in this area? Most of what I know about it has come from Flame Angel's website.

I'd like to take a look at one of these systems in operation if possible.

    Josh,

Thanks for the links and the info. I'll let you now how its coming along. My biggest problem is finding a place to set it up. I can put it in the garage but am concerned with how temp. extremes will effect my cultures.

OK, cool. Thanks. Freezing isn't a big problem here in SA. If I oversize the system a bit for winter time production rates I should be OK. I can always cut back on the number of bottles when it warms up or give away the rest. I was wondering about what the temp. would do to rotifers and brine too.

I might post something on RC and see what kind of response I get to those questions. Surely someone there has some experience with it. I don't go onto RC much anymore. I just let the rest of you keep an eye out for all the neat post on there and link to them. When I do go there, I usually just search for whatever topics I'm looking for info on at the time. RC is a little to busy to keep up with everything going on there.

I found a link to what looks like a decent source for info and supplies for zoo and phyto culturing systems. I thought I'd post it as a reference for the group.
