    Default cycled?

Alright, my tank has been set up for about 3 weeks not, its a 29 gallon with only 11lbs of live rock in it so far, i did a test last week and my ammonia was at about 1 ppm and nitrites were at about 1ppm as well, i just tested it today, and now nitrites are at 0 but ammonia is still around 1, is it cycled completely yet, i know that ammonia is supposed to rise, then fall and then nitrites are supposed to rise and fall, but why is ammonia up after nitrites have already risen and fallen?

another question, if i put fish in my tank after it has cycled with the 11lbs of LR in it, i have to cycle the new LR if i add some later in a seperate place before putting it in right?... i have a big 33 gallon rubbermaid tub i can use, but my question is do i need to have lighting on the rocks for them to cycle in the bin, i know i need to have a powerhead to create flow, but i wasn't sure about lighting

I agree with Josh. Add all your live rock and let it cycle and then add fish. to much of a pain in the *** to cycle live rock in another container and then try to add and reaarange with out stressing out your fish or other tank inhabitants. Just my 2 cents.

You'll be ok also if you just add a couple pounds at a time or get cured rock.
