I ordered a 9 for 99 last week for the heck of it and the corals I got in were HUUUUUGEEE. The same pieces local stores would charge 20-30 bucks for I got for 11 bucks a pop. Really really good deal.

I think they're really hit and miss. I did the 9 for 99 and got about 4 live corals (only 1 was bigger than a frag), one bag that didnt have any water in it, and 4 95% dead corals. Tried to contact them and they never responded.

Thought it was kind of funny that the subject of this thread was "great prices on snails" and not a single snail was listed in the livestock sale items posted! :-D

First off I'd like to say hello!

I hate to be the barer of bad news, but I wouldn't do the 9 for $99 from Jeff's. I personally used to live 5 min away from Jeff's and used to go there every weekend for some good deals. Now the problem with the 9 for $99 is:

1 - A lot of the stuff doesn't really have a lot of color (Mostly green, brown, and yellow)
2 - Most of the corals he ships out were just received at his facility, rebagged with more air, and shipped back out. (1 day in a bag to his facility, and 1 day to your doorstep; a minimum of 48 hours in the same bag)

Don't get me wrong, but Jeff is a great guy if you are a local, but he is a business man. When or if they die he does not have any warranty on his livestock. Jeff's is a wholesaler that sells to the public. 90% of his livestock comes in from Tonga from a facility that he recently opened. That being said, it is a place that you want to deal with personally on livestock and not via internet. On the other hand, I would highly recommend him on some drygoods.

I anyone would like any corals from Southern Cali, please feel free to send me a message. I can contact my friends over there and get it for a fraction of the price. I also have a friend that wholesales to LFS here in San Antonio, that might be able to ship your orders with theres. (maybe)

My experience with Jeff's was fine. I did the 9 for $99 and a few more items to start my 180 gal tank. 3 out of 12 items died. Guess I was lucky. Some of the corals are good size. I thought if 50% of the stuffs live. it would still be cheaper than getting from a local store. I did talk to a sale person and asked him to pick some good stuffs for me.

I think it is a good place to get some basic stuffs to start your tank.
