Tunze Stream pumps

Does anyone out there use them? More interested in the 6010 model. Thinking of putting one on each end of my tank?

As Joshua said Vinh has one. They are pretty neat and a bit large for my taste but powerful.

I got used to the size of the pump, but everybody who came over would gasp :o , and ask "what the hell is that huge thing in the back of the tank." :oops:

Unless I'm behind on the information, you might have trouble attaching them to the end of your tank. They're made for Euro tank with Euro Bracing or No bracing on top at all(trimless.) The trim on Oceanic type tank is too big for the bracket to work. You can attach them to your: center brace, overflow. They're coming out w/ ceramic decorative rock that you can hide the pump into. The cost is about $70 or something for the rock, but don't quote me on that.

If you buy the 6010 and don't like it, I would like to be 1st in line to buy them from you if you are selling it at a good price. They're coming out w/ higher GPH model later on.

Yes it's the power that has me interested. I was planning on using two Ampmaster 3000s in a closed loop system but maybe the Tunze is a better options. Both would be pushing 6,000 gph?

Mine only pump 1800 GPH. Roger had one prototype Stream in his SPS retail tank (at about 3K GPH I think) and it was blowing his substrate toward the other side.

I think you have to keep cleaning it to make sure it work properly. Mine is growing sheet of corraline on it.

Close by, the Tunze will provide a better option then the Ampmaster 3000. I don't know how far the pattern is to completely cover your tank. The Tunze will be quieter then the Amp for sure. Not to mention you don't have to worry about plumbing leaks later on.

Many good points! I am pointing to Tunze The 6010s and the electonics.Nnot much more than Amp masters. I am planning on using 4 6010s and removing 8 maxijets on two wavemakers, and six Rio 2500s, and 4 maxijets not on wavemakers.


I was hoping you would buy the 4 6010 set up and not use it then sell it to me!!!! ;) ;)

When you do that, you'll notice a big dip in temperature. LOL If you're buying four Stream, buy their wave simulation kit. It came w/ a multicontroller, so you don't have to buy the controller individually. Four Stream working together to rock your tank. The electronic is good. If it turn out to be too powerful, you can actually dial down the GPH rating. The Tunze Stream Kit TS48 (Wave Simulation) is about $1350 w/ 4 pumps & multicontroller. The photo sensor to automatically lower the GPH at night cost extra (about $5 to $10 for each photo sensor)

The 6010 uses 15Watts 6010 & sounds kind of weak for your bare bottom tank.
But then I don't know how much water flow clams can take.
