Thread: Feeding ?

    Default Feeding ?

I feed with a frozen mix and mysid shrimp. I have recently added a Chevron and Yellow tang to the 100 gallon and they dont seem to eat when its offered (I also place in dry seaweed). The tangs pick at the rocks but, Im concerned (asking) is there something else I should be feeding the tangs?

    Hi Pete,

Have you tried Emerald Entree? My Blue Surgeon (aka Blue or Hippo Tang) likes it alot.

Are they grazing on the seaweed sheet? You could try some spirllina flakes...

My tang loves flake food, anytime flakes get put in the water he darts over to them. I put them in the output of my bakpak so they come out in the water, not on top. My tang wont eat off the top of the water, just stuff floating in it....cs
    50gal cube in the works.

    Pete,

Emerald Entree is a Frozen food by San Francisco Bay Brand that is, "A complete Omnivorous Formula." They recommend it for Blue & Yellow Tangs. Some of the ingredients are: mysis, krill, plankton, spinach, romaine lettuce, red leaf lettuce, Spirulina algae, and much more.

If they came from the LFS, what did they eat there?

They came from a LFS but never got out of the package as I visit "way too much" :-D , but I will try. I also have Prime Reef Flakes which I use ocassionally, but have not tried on the tangs in the 100 gallon yet (I will try it first Witecap ... as I have it on hand, thanks).
