Thread: Club Diving

    Default Club Diving

A few of us have expressed interest in doing a few club dives. My dive partner and I go to New Braunfels from time to time to dive the Comal. If anyone is ever interested in going chime in. Plus if anyone decides that they would like to go one day and need another diver to go, drop me a line I am always willing to go if I can get away. It would also be great to do some rig dives off of Port Aransas. If anyone has any connections with a boat out of Port A, myself and some others would love to go and help pick up some of the expenses. What other places have you guys been diving around this area? The Comal is nice, about 75degrees year-round. The vis has been around 10 - 15 feet, plus we usually find some cool stuff and sometimes money. Has anyone been to the Blue Hole up around Wimberly? I have only found a few things about it online, but I have heard that it might be a good place to get some clear water.

It looks to be a deep hole in a river, I don't know a great deal about it. I was hoping someone else might have heard of it as well. I am not sure how it is being run, or if many people dive there regularly. But a buddy of mine heard it was supposed to be pretty decent.

I guess there are not too many people here that are inerested in diving together. Maybe it is too cold right now. How many divers do we have in the group? :o

I used to dive a lot off the coast of Panama but I haven't since I moved here to San Antonio... so it's been about 6 years or so

And yeah I think it is a bit too cold... at least for me! No body fat :P

I am interested but would prefer to wait for warm weather. I am also very intested in a rig dive.

If the seas don't get too high this weekend, I plan to do a rig dive. The water is not going to be too cold, and the weather has been like spring around here. Some of the regular divers out of Port A. say that winter is the best time of year. I will let you know if I go how it turns out. If a few are inerested I have found a couple of boats ranging from $125 - $150 per diver. You have to rent tanks also at $10 each. Let me know I think the boats take about 6 - 8 per trip. ;)

I though you all are talking about sky diving. :o :-o  :?
There's a sky diving operation close to San Marcos, going out toward Martindale.
Look at all those live rocks on the beach at Florida's state park!

Check your dive shops down there. I have a buddy up here that can train you for $150. We went down and dove the San Marcos river last night! Great night dive! Put in at Joe's Crap Shack and drifted just before the falls. It was a good 1 hour and 45min dive. Lots of fish and interesting dive. Only hit about 11 feet deep but a good dive anyway. Visability was a good 30 feet but hard to tell with a dive light. Probably more. Near the end of the dive though it got murked up from all the feeder streams.
