As many of our members are making it back to their homes following Harvey, MAAST would like to begin gathering information from members who's systems were impacted by the past week to see how best we can help.

We understand getting a tank back up and running after such an event may not be priority one, and this process is going to take some time at our end, but we did want to begin this process of identifying who needs help. We hope the announce the "how" within the next week or so.

Criteria for being eligible for support from MAAST will include:

Must have been a charter member at some point in MAAST's history. We will use your account name on our .org to verify

Your aquarium must have been severely impacted by Harvey. If you're someone who lost a handful of fish or corals, you will not be eligible for this help.

Please message me your MAAST username, how your aquarium was affected, and what supplies you think you need the most.

The total amount of help we are able to get will be divided amongst those who need it, and are determined to be eligible by the BOD.

We are proud to announce that 100% of the charter member dues that MAAST receives from Sept 1- Sept 30th will be dispersed to those members who request help in the pinned post.

As about 35% of our annual dues come from September and October, we will allow those members who expire in October and wish to help our fellow hobbyists, charter early and will extend their membership to 13 months from the time of purchase.

Membership dues can be paid via PayPal at treasurer@maast.org

We have a few more things in store to help add funds to our aid package and will be announcing them as soon as possible.

If you are someone who is chartering during this time, please shoot Sherri Ancira a message so that your membership can be expedited.

Thank you all for offering your help to our fellow aquarists in need, and as stated we have a few more things in store that will
Be announced on this post.

Don't forget guys, we are doing a membership drive this month for a few of our members who lost their aquariums during Hurricane Harvey. Our sponsor Pod Your Reef (https://www.facebook.com/podyourreef/?ref=gs&fref=gs&dti=275233290956&hc_location=group) has offered assistance to our affected members and we'd like to be able to send some nice care packages for a few of our members who lost their setups last month. Currently we've only had a small handful of members renew their charter memberships this month and are WAY below our normal September numbers. As such, we are extending the Membership Drive until our BOD/ October meeting on October 15th at Brandon Skidmore (https://www.facebook.com/brandon.skidmore.75?fref=gs&dti=275233290956&hc_location=group)'s place, which will be formally announced by this weekend. If you expire anytime during October and would like to charter early, we will extend your membership to include the days remaining on your 2016-2017 membership.

This is awesome, love our small reef community. I remain hopeful that this forum becomes heavy in foot traffic as it used to be 5yrs ago
