We are seeking 2 members to join the MAAST BOD.

It is open to those that are current Charter members in good standing & who want to help MAAST grow and excel. Listed below are the current BOD members and their director positions that are up for re-election/election (there a total of 6 openings). Please nominate yourself or anyone else that you feel MAAST will benefit from their talents.

Members may nominate any charter member, themselves included that they feel worthy for the position.
It is requested that the nominee submit a post that he/she accepts as well as submit a small bio explaining why they would like to join the BOD and what special qualities they have that can be beneficial to the club.

These positions will expire on 12-31-2017. Your attendance will be mandatory for the September 25th board meeting and the frag swap November 5th and 6th. You also need to be attend regular meeting and be willing to assume BOD duties

Nominations will begin today and run through the thirteenth. Voting will end on September 23rd.

**This will need to be updated in the Bylaws to read as follows:**

I think it's time to let members vote to allow bod to participate in door prizes. Most of us know why this law came into effect, but we need more bod.

The door prize and raffles being so good is a huge reason why we've had a decrease in bod sign ups. I'd be willing to abstain to have an impartial drawing (I normally distribute and pick the winners) and I'm sure Sherri wouldn't mind also doing so as we both are tank-less. If she's handling the money and I'm doing the tickets and drawing I think it could work, but that's a decision I agree would best be made by a charter vote.

Good morning everyone!

My name is Rebecca Dobry I have been living in San Antonio for going on two years now. Up until a year ago I would have never expected to be involved with salt water aquariums, but this is a hobby that is both challenging and rewarding. In November of last year I met my current roomate Mike (quicksilver) and my love of salt water took on "full obsession mode". Along with his knowledge and tutelage I have learned enough to be able to participate in frag swaps and also help mentor new members of the community. I am currently running a 40 gallon mixed reef aquarium, and Mike and I have put together a really nice 33 long that is coming along as a zoa and softie garden. In the next 6-8 months I expect to be selling my 40 and starting up a 110 gallon red sea tank. Thank you all for your support and help throughout this year! I am excited to be a bigger part of this organization!
