I am looking for dry rock. I am from Kingsville but going to school in San Antonio. I have a 75 gallon aquarium that I am going to do a reef tank with. Im trying to slowly get everything I need to get it up and running.

You can make your own if you have the time and patience for it! I can provide you the details if you are a DIY kind of person.
If not, I'll keep my ears open for some for you.

If you are not in a rush, I think Jeremiah Nichols is doing a class on it later in the year.

I am going to do a little class on making your own "Live Rock" I will have a station setup and walk through forming, the best mix I have found, creating ideas and how to cure them after the rock has dried.
Im also going to do a custom piece as part of a raffle for the MAAST Charter Members. If those who are not charter members want to attend, I'll have another piece that I can raffle off if the board approves the "as of yet unplanned option".
More to come...

Where would this class be put on and any rough idea on a date? I have lot of time. My 135, which was a freshwater, just sprung a leak at the seam so my wife has put all aquarium stuff on hold.
I plan on eventually setting up a75 gallon tank for her class room.
How long does the DIY rock stuff last?

Sorry. Hit enter and it posted. It will be at my place, but not until Sept/Oct. if you need help before then, let me know and I can set up a time to meet with you, give you the supply lists, and do a walk through.

Thank you,
That's really thought full of you. I am not sure when ill have a free weekend. Going to physical therapy school in San Antonio and wife is a school teacher in a small town south of Kingsville, I also just had twin girls. I wont be trying to make any rocks for awhile but if you happen have a link to a thread about your process or a video I would love to try leaning.
Thanks again for the willingness to help.

I'll go ahead and creat a video the next time I make some. Which should be in a couple weeks. I'll do a little write up for you and send it your way. Just to get an idea of some of the items I have made, here are a few pics. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160411/54f03a1579ada80afad2ad6b5a36a3c3.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160411/ccf1a57eebfc2a7ab8dbc7570c21cf58.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160411/a509637c3f05b9b4bf23e463811985f1.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160411/6d00a9827bdfe5814950a74ff7e58790.jpg

I was going for sunken Roman Pottery for a theme tank. Back is Very porous and has been hollowed out to reduce the overall weight.
