With the holiday season right around the corner, what are some products you've purchased in the past that you would recommend others to buy?

My favorite products of the last few years have been:

Instant Ocean Bio-Spira & the Thrive Aquatics dosing system.

The bio-spira acts as a quick start of sorts and allows for very fast and easy cycling by adding live nitrifying bacteria to a new tank. I've used it on every tank I've setup since since 2012 and have had zero complaints with it. I'm sure Dr. Tims is probably the better product, but this has worked wonders for me several times in the past.

Thrive is a product that I was introduced to by Polly's Pets I 2013. I used it religiously on my 40 breeder as my 11 gallon and loved it! I can't recommend their line of products enough.

Completely agree, the sicce I had was incredibly silent.

Did they replace your old one?

An apex system! By far one of the pest purchases I have made for my tank. Saves time and makes things a lot easier. Not to mention provides ease of mind especially when you're. It there!

Yup, spoke with a rep the next day and i had a replacement within the week. Sadly, im thinking of going thr dc pum
p route to have the ability to rev down the flow during feed times. Still on the fence though.

They are awesome man. Super super quiet. Sometimes you find used ones at a deal.

One thing that has made my corals much more happy has been the addition of a wavemaker. Getting varied flow from all directions has really brought out polyp extension. Plus there is more flow with these power heads so I could actually up the lighting and not worry about too much oxygen buildup in the corals tissue.

So now I just need some good LED lights to replace the MH fixture, an Apex Controller and dosing system. Then I'll be ready for a larger tank to be able to start all over again :-)

I agree with you on the flow. I use a lot of flow and with my apex, i change the flow settings of my mp40's almost every hour. In addition, i also use a jb wave box to vary the flow of my two wp45's. Im getting nice and tight growth with really thick branches
