I'm starting this to document my treatment for bryopsis with tech M. Today was my first dose. The pictures are pre dose. I will try to take a pic a day, but my tank is in my office and sometimes I'm out at our yards. I did my first treatment after my weekly 5 gallon water change, the tank is a 40 breeder with a 20 long sump. Chaeto and a skimmer with marine pure spheres are down there. It's a frag tank and all I have is 1 chromis and 5 snails( one being a turbo). I'm figuring volume is about 50 gallons. I did enough tech m to raise 100ppm or so. And will continue to 1600 ppm and if that doesn't work onto 1800 ppm. I will decrease water changes since it's just zoas in there I should be fine. Heck they may grow faster.

Since there doesn't appear to much in the tank I would be tempted to just scrub the tank, drain it and start over.

Thought about it. But this is more fun. I like the scientific side of it

I have done my second treatment. Mag is raised another 100ppm to roughly 1350.

Pictures are before second dose.

I will continue dosing and test final amount of mag when I see recession of bryopsis. Then I will maintain that amount.

Sadly this never worked for me, and I kept my mag at 1800 for a looong time. Bryopsis, the gift that keeps on giving, even when it subsides for a week or two.

I started this as well, had my mag between 1600 and 1700 for two weeks. Didn't see much happening at that point. Then my wife reminded me I had some more dry rock in the garage, so we popped the frags and corals off the offending rocks and swapped them out. It's gone now :)

I agree this stuff sucks and this may or may not work for this particular bryopsis. But worth a shot. Worst case scenario after I'm done with this bottle of Kent it I peroxide dip all the zoa frags and start up again. It's not hurting much right now so I figure it's a fun experiment

Looks like it's growing lol

What I have had success with is a kole tang in my frag tank and not feeding it. I've had one in there for a while but I always fed him a little. I stopped and my frags are all clean now. I guess I need one in the display again.

After I tried the Tech M solution, I did just keep using it for my mag supplement hoping it would help, at least some what. Never noticed a difference really.

I threw thousands at this carp. Twice with Tech M. Nada. Finally tore the tank down.

I've used tech m with success. This time I just decided to document it. Here it is turning white and less dense.
