Hello everyone, I have been lurking for a while but thought I would finally get around to posting progress on my 120. I have been doing research for months but finally started at the end of May. Cycle has finished and algae bloom is starting to die down a little. These are a few older pics but will try to keep this updated.

Radions? What light program are you running?

I am currently running the 1st schedule from this site http://ilovereefing.de/radion-graphs/?lang=en but I don't have any corals yet so I have no idea if this is a good lighting schedule. I plan on going out this weekend to get a few test corals since I think my tank is ready and see how things go.

Looks like a great setup. I love my Radions. Looking forward to seeing it grow out. What kind of corals are you looking to keep? Welcome to MAAST!

Tank update 2 - it is doing good the daitome explosion has finally started to turn green and a good amount has gone away. Still trying to figure the flow out and where I should put my power heads. There is a spot up top where a stuff seems to pile up. Currently have 2 pajamas, 1 powder blue, 1 firefish, 1 diamond goby. I also got two cheap coral to see how things go and so far they are still alive after 1 week.

Tank update 8/16/15 - 2.5 months into first tank

I have finally got the nitrates under control. I have done 25 gallon water changes every week so after today's they are at 2. Most of the brown has turned green. I'm thinking of getting 2 emeralds to help get rid of this. Gonna start to ramp up coral purchases. I also need a frag shelf to get them off the sand since crabs keep walking over them. Any suggestions welcome.

Took a video of the tank. Things are really coming along well. My only concerns are flow and light schedule so I have been trying a fee things.

It has been more than a month so here are some updated pictures and a video. All parameters have been constant but I do have a tiny bit of cyano on a few rocks so hopefully I can get that under control. I am also getting the qt tank back up and running since I am hopeing to start getting more fish since it has been a while.

Is that a tunze power head and if it is how do you like it?

Yes I have two nanostream 6055 one on each side and one nanostream 6045 at the back and the multicontroller 7096. They are silent and the flow is great but the software for the multicontroller is terrible but it looks like newer versions come with controllers that are easier to use.

Just wondering about flow and if it's enough. I have 4 mp40 on my 190 and it doesn't seem to be enough and plan to add 2 of the tunze 4000 gph pumps.

4 Mp40's should be plenty of flow. I only had two for a while on my 220g and eventually went to 3. Just make sure they are offset on each side.

I have 4 in my 5' tank and it's plenty of flow. Only running it at 50% throughout the day and 25% at night. I do anti sync on all four so it creates a flow pattern

Update we have purchased a lot of coral since the last update. We also added a flamehawk about a month ago and he has been awsome no trouble with our shrimp or cuc. It was a fish I had always wanted so I was really happy to find him at South sea.

These 4 and the rack came from the maast event.

A discasoma fell off the frag and I thought I had lost it but it showed up on this coral a few weeks later. Both seem to be doing good so I have left it
