If you promise to attend meetings (and participate) on a monthly basis and be an active member, you have my vote.
Too many disappear and their on both bod and mod. This is what I found. Thats what I saw.

I can agree with you there, Shane, too often folks get elected (or appointed) to a position and they disappear.

However your statement is highly misleading. You're actually talking about, maybe, 10% of the population. However when you take into account your asberger-like focus on the tiniest deviation from your own personal perception of how participation is weighed, well, I can imagine that you have been highly upset over it. I've seen you post three to four times in a single day asking for a response, and even when a response is given the next day, you're still dogging that bone. Particularly if the response given isn't in line with your own perception of what should be, or what should not be.

In fact, that's what led to your eventual, and abrupt, quitting of the club. It's too bad that you had quit, for you brought a lot of energy to the group. And your ideas were sound, if poorly communicated, and great contributions... but you allowed the one or two that were genuinely not participating to drive an action that affected the group that was participating.

I would ask that you do away with the passive aggressive statements, and focus on supporting those individuals that you believe will provide the greatest support to the community. The club may need an influx of new blood to bring about an upward swing in participation.

This is what I saw, this is what I've found over the last several years.

Good Day, Sir. ;-)

That is very interesting. I know I would give 110%. overtime will be over in a couple of weeks.
Thank you Chris. It would drive me crazy not seeing people attend meetings.
Imagine Chris if you put 110% into something to watch nobody be around.
Im enjoying the hobby from where I am at and all my tanks.
Thank you Chris. Im sure you have good intentions.

:-) thought I was attempting to do just that by pointing out the white noise.

Sherri has been nominated, I would second or third that nomination. A bastion to our finances, and one heck of a classy lady, MAAST would suffer should she leave.

I'm assuming that Ben is not interested in running for the big chair again?

That's BS. I feel as if I was attacked for no reason. This is why the club is where it's at now.

I'll even refrain from posting my 4 paragraph response to an biased and hastily put together jab at the people who have served.

Thank you for the nomination and I accept the bid.

A little bit about myself, I am a transplant to Texas from Sunny California. I have been involved with Aquariums since I was kid with my first 10 gallon fresh water tank with a couple of guppies, frogs and tetras that was run off a simple heater and air pump powered filter. From there a friend of mine gave me the liquid cocaine of aquascaping amano style and from there I was heavily addicted to planted tanks. When I finally moved here from Cali, I decided to take a break from the whole hobby and was doing well for awhile until my wife, then gf, wanted me to setup a tank since she knew how much I enjoyed them. Well that unleashed the flood gates and I got back into planted tanks until I ran into my buddies that run an LED light company and they told me that saltwater was not that much more different than FW planted. Needless to say, they lied and I have been helplessly addicted to reef tanks.

Thanks, Eve. I will accept my nomination for the board. Between school and family issues I haven't had the time to dedicate to the club like I should. But 2015 is a new year with new resolutions and direction, I plan to dedicate my time better for the club. My term for this year was only one year, but I have served three consecutive years and I would like to stick around and really help this club. I feel like we have a good core people here that are staying, so I am hoping to continue.

I would like to nomonate Amanda, bluekoran91 to the election. Amanda has been active behind the scenes with the marketing committee hitting the road and helping me interview sponsors. She also helps me edit the documents before they go public. I think she has a good drive and fondness for the club and will do great things if elected.

I am super excited to help MAAST grow and flourish. This is where I got my start in the hobby and I've met some awesome people along the way. It's an amazing feeling getting to interact with so many people and continuing to grow in knowledge and share knowledge with others!! I will make myself available as much as I can. Thank you guys for the opportunity!!

Its been an amazing journey since '08 as a Charter Member, Bod Member, Secretary & yes Vice Pres :) It was fun and I have loved every bit of it.. Thanks everybody for the kind words. For those who don't know me...I joined MAAST within 2 months of its' forming (January 2003) - I was Secretary with the very first BOD that month. In 2005, I became Treasurer after missing funds were uncovered...and recovered! Since then, I have been Treasurer which means protector of MAAST monies...:shades: I write checks, I transfer monies, I figure taxes, and accept monies for Charter Memberships...I handle all accounts for MAAST - including Checking Account, Savings Account, PayPal Account and the CD Account. I have seen MAAST bloom into a great club in the last 12 years...I find it very hard to walk away even tho I no longer have my 180 brick...which I miss! I will continue to protect MAAST if you will have me for another two years...I care about this club and the friends I've made along the way...
