Do y'all find yourselves going through cycles with coral? Example I started with chalices, then zoas/palys, now I'm buying euphyllia, I think montis are next on the list. I find myself going through these cycles with every tank. Just wondering if y'all do the same.

I started with brain corals, I had 11 different kinds then got tired of it so I sold or trade them all except for one. Zoas and palys have always been something that I collect. Now I'm into acans, scolys and bowerbankis. I just finished on euphyllias (9 species) and mushrooms (8 species) running out of room and it gets quite expensive. Lol!

I started with a mixed reef and tried to have everything in one tank. Some thrived others didn't, so I started to concentrate on one theme at a time. I went with softies in my 150 near the end, I tried a zoa garden in a nano next, then moved onto SPS, acros and other branching corals, and am stuck on those right now. I did buy this past month an ora chalice so I'm hoping that I'm not moving in that direction now, but time will tell....

Chalice are nice and hardy but can get expensive paying 300$+ an eye for some. I still want to get the flamethrower, Bahama mama, and dynamite along with a few older ones I lost in the move but that's around $1000 there. Gotta figure out a way to trick the wife into letting me get them. :)

Chalices are one of my favorites. I look more for color diversity rather than "brand". I wouldn't do well if I paid those high dollar amounts for designer pieces and lost them. lol I am on a Euphillia kick right now though. The down side is my mixed reef is only a 65 tall so I am running out of room fast!
