i did switch the salt the other day from oceanic sea salt to oceanic reef salt. i really dont think thats the problem though. do tanks just go through weird cycles?

going to need a lot more info than just that. what are water parameters alk, cal,ph,nitrates, phosphates. what's your filtration consist of, do you dose anything. then we can go from there

The first thing I notice is the clean sand. Looks new. How young is the tank? or old?
Everytime you change the environment your going to see a change good or bad.
The parameters Chris is talking about will help you stay on top of those changes.
I have to do the same. lol

+1 on checking levels. I test alk everyday since I have been needing to does everyday. One question I have is did you use the same sand that came with the tank? If so did you clean it or did you just move the tank and set it back up?

Same sand and no, I didn't clean it.

Depending on how old the sand was, you could have extra waste in the system. To me though, it looks like you don't quite have enough light. The blue mushrooms are only blue in the center, and the open zoas have a distinct brown skirt and only color in the center, signs of not enough par.

My first thought exactly. Kenya trees are entry level corals but when I had them in my 60 cube and neglected to change my bulbs out after 12 months and they died off.

I picked up 2 10k and 1 actinic and illl pick up another actinic tomorrow. They were cheap and they will give me some time to save up for some better lights. Hopefully this will help with healthy growth and stop the growth of the HA. I thought I saw someone posr something about pulling out the rock with HA and scrub it down.
