Attention all MAAST Members its time to get your frags and any equipment you have lying around for our annual Fall frag swap.


Reefers can bring their propagated corals, fragged from their own tanks, to either trade or sell at this event.


Tables will be provided, one table max per member.

Food will also be provided, BBQ of course, so bring an appetite. Its Yummy!

NOTE: Please use this thread to place your RSVP for the event. Also please advise if you will be needing a table to setup your sales area. :)



Here is the time schedule:

9am- Facility Open- Someone Needs to Be Present
BOD Arrival 9:30
Table Setups 10am-12:00pm
Lunch 1-2pm
Event 1pm-4pm
Cleanup Begins 3:30pm-4pm-Event Finished


**Entry Fees:Charter members and Sponsors +1 guest = Free
Web Members and Non-sponsors = $5 per person

**Table Fees (only if you are selling)

Charter members and current Sponsors - Free
Web members - $5.00
Non-sponsors - $50.00

That efflo is calling to me.

I am going to frag some but let me know who wanted this so I know about how many to bring. My colonly is only about 4 inches across so this will really cause it to look ugly for a while. $25 for a 1/4 inch square (each side is about 1/2 inches) for this "$500 Efflo". This is an old coral but is a really great coral.

Alrighty folks This event is fixing to kick off day after tomorrow. Let's make sure everybody remembers to go through their checklist. Make sure you have extra water, power strips, extension cords. Also, don't forget all the little bags or cups and what not to put your frags in.

Yes. The location in Shertz has a pretty reasonable cost for renting the hall. Also, we have several folks that come down from Austin and the surrounding area up north for the swap. It creates a happy medium. With attendance at or over 100 people per event, I felt that it was a good location. I do agree we should do more events on the northwest or central area. I will look into some new places over there. If you have any ideas, let me know so I can contact them for pricing information.

Unless it is in Floresville I drive 45 minutes to an hour to get to any of those locations. :)

Lack of another venue is a problem. When we outgrew Easter Seals we struggled to find a new one. If anyone has suggestions, we are open ears.

The August meeting was at Bass Pro, once you took away the board members and speakers the turnout was very light. San Antonio is not that large, you can travel across it in 30 minutes as long as you stay clear of a few intersections.
