are you planning on getting a controller anytime soon? if so you can add it to most of then cheaply

The float switch for the reef keeper is cheap and effective...been running mine for over a year now with no issues....

Plus you get more features with a controller, other than the ato..

I have the reef keeper lite and apex was supposed to be shipped but still hasn't (bought used on eBay) so we are prolly gonna get money back. I was unaware I could add on.

Louis at elegant carries the float switch but with the lite, you need a sl1 module, which will let you also monitor your PH...

Not me....

Oh and i made a reservoir out of a plain 10 gallon tank...., can use just about anything though.

the apex you need a break out box to do it with RK you need the sl1 and use the switch inputs

You can make a custom cable and not use the breakout box if you wanted but the breakout box does make it easier. It's beyond me why Neptune has not made a better ATO solution. If they made a new module that came with an optical sensor and back up float switch (like the Tunze), people would go crazy buying it.
