Who is using the Red Sea Magnesium test kit? I seem to have a problem reading the numbers accurately.
I allways seems to be way to high. Is there an easier magnesium test kit out there?

I was testing this on a biocube and every test that I ran the mag was near 1700. impossible lol
weekly sw changes with kent sw and I should be below 1400. Does it take more time to change colors?
more time than what the instructions say

I use both Red Sea and Salifert and Red Sea measures higher. Red Sea gets 1280, Salifert gets 1215. Low I know. I'm working on adjusting it. That's a big difference between the two kits but they're both low anyway.

That is a good test. I am allways reading a high number. Did you find any mistakes that you were doing when you first
started the test, that you have fixed?

I got the Red Sea Pro kit in last Friday and used it the first time yesterday. I am getting ready to dose Tech M for cyano... One tricky thing I noticed was that you pull the plunger back to set on the line of the measured chemicals and not the fluid level. So it appears that you don't have the correct amount of fluid but in doing so correctly they are taking the tip of the syringe in to account. I made this mistake of pulling the fluid in to the amount required rather than the edge of the plunger the first test I did and the numbers were whacky. The Alk test is tricky IMO though in when you have reached the proper end color. Reminds me of the API ph and ammonia test kits.

When dosing techM it can get tricky because the test kit will not read high enough. You have double amount you put in or multiply results or lessen amount of test water by half.

I had some issues with the Red Sea kits. I found some videos made by them on you tube that made the whole process of using their kits a lot easier then reading instructions.

I will definitely need to watch those videos. Thanks John.
