My new...ish tank

I picked up the tank from teeterz this morning and got everything setup a bit ago. was a great price for everything and i am very happy with the setup. in the next few weeks i will be adding another clown fish, a clean up crew, a few soft coral, new lights and a new filtration system. the only downside is all the algae, but with weekly water changes and a few scoops a day i should be able to get it cleaned up nicely. what do yall think?

Scoops of what..? Hydrogen peroxide works well for algae

i meant scooping the chunks of clumped algae with a net. hydrogen peroxide, eh? how much and how often would you suggest?

What kind of clean up crew do you have. If you don't have one I would suggest to get that first before getting any fish. Zephyr Aquatics has a great selection and good prices.

I have a spiny urchin that was given to me to help with some algae spots but its all clean now but he is starting to eat some zoas, so i can pass it forward if u would like him. let me know

envy... i only have a few snails, but i plan on picking up quite a few this weekend.

To knock back algae using hydrogen peroxide use 1ml per 10g. Keep In mind that softies like that colt coral are going to take it hard. Zoas usually like the h2o2.

Peroxide isn't a super aggressive treatment, I've done it with sps, lps, zoas, nems. Softies will close for an hour or so and open back up

Best attack it too weaken the algae fir a week dosing, then introduce a cuc to munch on it!

i just added 3ml of peroxide about 10 minutes ago, and in that time period the colt started to droop just a bit...

Nah, just for algae.. I do notice my water looks maybe 10% clearer than normal, I think someone on here once said it's because it's adding oxygen to the water..
