I have an Oceanic 75 gal RR that has been setup since 2003. The front glass has thousands of micro scratches over time caused by algae magnets and the clarity is lacking. The side views are fine. I was thinking of replacing the tank only and looking at used tanks. I found a 90 gal RR and 90 gal non-RR which I will look at later next week. I was thinking that if I go with the non-RR, I would need the CPR overflow box and air pump ($135) but would not loose that corner as in the RR. Both of the 90s come with stand and about $75 between them (non-RR more as only 4 months old and do not know how old the RR is).

I do have a sump and do not use the RR's built in return as I have two Mag 12s that supply water back to the tank by hanging the returns in both corners (next to RR's built in overflow). So, going with a CPR would be the only addition to the back of the tank.

Thoughts?

I have officially had both now, I prefer to have reef ready, rather than non-reef ready. But IMO I think this goes with personal preference.

My first saltwater tank had an external over flow. Never again, RR or drilled
