how much hydrogen peroxide do i use to dip corals to kill off algea and sponges.

I put the coral/frag in a small container with tank water and slowly add h2o2 until I see micro bubbles forming and rising to the top. One you get those, you can stop adding h2o2. Stir it a little and let it sit for 5-10 minutes (depending on the coral).

Don't be surprised of you don't see the polyps for a week or two. lol They will rebound though.
I am struggling with a colony of gobstoppers that even the h2o2 wont help.

It's a frag of acans that has about 9 heads.

IDK if I have dipped acans. I was always nervous to do it (because they're my favorites). I think I have done it though. Although, I usually remove and scrub with a tooth brush. You can alternately spot treat the parts with algae with a tooth brush or liquid dropper using h2o2 so you don't dip the entire coral.

Yeah its surrounded by algae and it's trying to grow.

try a toothbrush:bigsmile: sometimes that works; you probably know this allready some of them toothbrushes got fluoride on them so find a clean one

Dip the brush in h2o2 and give it a little scrub and let it sit out for a few minutes. Not too long obviously, but allow for a 'treatment period' then rinse in tank water and put back in tank.
