I hav a 125 g tank with dual corner overflows and dual returns. I have been using a gen x -40 external pump for years . I noticed my pump kept creating bubbles and couldn't figure it out. I took the pump off and looked inside the impeller area. It doesn't appear to have a broken impeller but I noticed there is some kind of plastic thing in front of it and it appears something hit it and broke one of the three plastic things. I'm assuming this is causing my bubbles . I also noticed the return volu.e is nothing like it use to be. This just started 2 days ago. So I'm looking to replace.

how much flow are you looking for?

I know I don't need as much flow as that gen x pump had. Lol. I have a 125 gallon tank. How much should I have. I was thinking around 350-450 gph. The other one was external but I can make an internal work also. I would rather have internal because I heard they are quieter.

They are quieter, but also add heat to the water and can leak electrical charge. That being said, we have both kinds running now and I prefer the insump one.

Sicce 4 is what i would be looking for.. Its a great pump, quiet compared to my mag 9.5..... Very quiet!

Its a in sump pump though.

Some ppl run 2 smaller pumps in case one goes out but i personally have never tried it.

I have an extra eheim 2260 pump which is equivalent in my opinion to the sicce 4 in overall value. Just let me know

Paul,

Unless there's a way for air to get in, it won't make bubbles. You should be looking for a leak somewhere that allows air to be sucked in. I wouldn't part with the pump yet.
