I am trying to add a little more light and some shimmer to my tank without breaking my bank. Could I take some waterproof flexible LED strips and wire them into my lighting system? Would anyone be able to push me in the right direction for some LEDS that aren't to expensive.

I tried some of those over my 75 gallon display tank and a small nano tank I had. Over the nano they did help a bit and gave the water more shimmer and the coral a little nicer look but they were completely washed out over my 75 gallon. I would think it would take several flexible led strips to be noticeable at all.

I have a 55G with 4-54Watt T-5's. i feel like it just isn't bright enough and I want some shimmer. :/

Panorama pros, if u can find them used.....
Yes they will get washed out a little by the t5s but if you set them on a separate timer, they will make those corals pop when the day bulbs are off...

Exactly above, the more expensive stunners will penetrate a bit more but the day light will drown it out. I've seen a t5 setup with some reef brite strips that looked pretty good

I'm just trying to get some shimmer. How much light would that require?
