Got a sailfin thats been in my tank for a year, fat and healthy thats is going crazy, swimming upside down and swimming every where bumping into things. I caught it and put in my sump thinking it wouldnt make it through the night. 4 day later he still alive but still swimming upside down?????????????????? so i put him back in tank. ??????? any ideas what i can do. it freaking my kid out lol

I've actually seen those guys swimming upside down. The guy actually called it doing cart wheels lol. I hope that there is nothing wrong with yours and he is just being goofy.

I looked it up when I read this earlier, some people think tangs do it as a defensive posture. Some people said theirs do it in the flow of PHs.

may have gotten ahold of some bad reefer. or could be a swim bladder issue

Fish is still alive but floating!!! This sucks

I agree u believe it's the swim bladder same happend to a 4 year old engineer goby I had, he was swimming crazy.

The swim bladder is a pouch that keeps the fish level it will fill with air and the fish will swim belly up

I know this is going to sound a bit rough but can you poke his bladder and squeeze the air out of him? Whenever I go fishing we like to catch redfish and when you bring them up from way down below the pressure changes make there stomach and tongue swell up. We poke them in the belly with a small knife and all of the pressure comes out and they are back to normal. Just with a knife wound lol.

My dad had that happen to one of my moms sharks FYI fish don't fart and if ya squeeze them they will die

Yes I know they don't fart that is why we have to make an incision to get the pressure out of the redfish.
