I finally got around to making a list of the zoas that currently reside here. I'm a bit shocked, and obviously quite obsessed. Is there such a thing as zoa hoarding? If there is, I am the poster child. Please bear in mind, this list doesn't include the 20+ colonies that I have no names for (either forgot, or are unnamed).

Are you serious? I don't mean 'are you serious you have that many zoas'. I mean 'are you serious this tendency to hoard name stuff hasn't occurred to you before'? LOL

But they are so pretty.............

What did I ever do to you?! LOL
Actually, I want to make a catalog of my zoas. With photos, info, lineage. I just can't find a software to do what I want. PLEASE don't tell me to use Excel. I've already fought with it, it won. I hate that program.
Another member found a couple of programs that looked interesting. Problem is that one is not Windows 7 compatible, and the other would never finish downloading (installer error). Then life got in the way of trying to find one. Life always gets in the way.

Use access instead, link the image to the name, so when you click it the image opens up. The rest of the information concerning the zoa would be in that record. You could make the zoa name the key.
Real easy. Then you can filter them by origin, coloration, light requirements, or any other number of characteristics. You could even place location in each record that you can filter or report on. That would be helpful is you have more than one tank :-)
A pivot table to show who has received frags of any of your zoas.

Sherita, just use coralpedia.com and add what they don't have on file...

I routinely refer to coralpedia.com. I've got a few of my own on there :)
But I want something just for my own private use. So I can track lineage, what I paid for it, how many polyps I started with, growth habits, likes/dislikes. Just a personal reference library, not something for public consumption.

There's always got to be one in the crowd......
Access and I have an understanding. I won't bother it, and it just resides on my computer quietly without causing trouble.

Lol
If you send me your list in excel, I can build you the database and then it's fairly easy, just have to talk you though the ctrl + k function to tie it to an image in your folder where you have the images of the various zoas.
I can send you the file back and then adding records is pretty easy. Not sure if you'd have any need for the macro functions, but you can hit the macro report type in a parameter (AOG) and it will/can send an email to everyone that received AOG from you in the past.
For starters.

You don't have cats I'm guessing so it's not crazy cat lady, it's crazy CORAL lady.
And I can't stop either so am heading in the same direction :( I don't even know the names of half the stuff I have that I have purchased from you, Pham and Rob.

At least my zoas and palys don't go around pooping in the neighbors flowerbeds :)
And I do have cats, but just two. The geriatricats. One is 18, the other is 29. Yes, 29. But don't tell them they are antiques, because they still have the evening zoomies and roll up the area rugs, steal my hair ties, and chase the geckos that get in the house.

really nice collection and you always have quality frags that are healthy when received. Pictures wouldn't do justice. The one on the list I would love to buy a couple of polyps is the purple PE.

Thank you for the kind words :)
I should have some purple pe at the swap in November. I've got a new PE, it's the weirdest thing ever. It's a purple PE, but with an unbelievable iridescent sheen to it. It's like nothing I have ever seen. And, of course, my camera cannot capture the sheen I'm talking about. It's like the little rainbow thing you see on bubbles. Weird, and absolutely captivating.

I'm still in awe of that PPE with the red overtone. Slow grower, but stunning.
