Here are some pics for those who want to see Steve's LED retro kit on a 14 gallon biocube. I still need to upload the pic of the typhon controller they sell. This is under PC light then it goes to LED at 20%. Like always the pictures doesn't do justice to how item really looks in person. The picture of LED at 20% looks really purple on camera but in person it looks better. More pictures on the way

The total cost for kit was $282.98 with shipping. I am very pleased with this kit. Steve's LED's answered all my questions before, during, and after the build. I really recommend them.

I was just curious if an AI nano would be a better deal? less work , just plug and play..

I have an ai nano and love it. Great prices for a used unit

It would be easier as far as plug-n-play but then you would have to have an open top and figure a way of hanging over tank which wouldn't be hard to do. You would also have to worry about water evaporating faster then normal since it's an open top. Not sure how the dimming process works with the AI nano but with the typhon I can control up to four channels and set the fade in and fade out to a time frame I want per channel. For example, channel 1 my light comes on at 9am it takes 1hr for it to reach 20%. Light begins to dim at 7pm takes 1hr for it to dim to 0%. So every 3 mins it goes up/down by 1% till its on/off. You can set the dimming duration to the time you want it doesn't have to be 1 hr . Not sure if the AI nano does this. I have not used channel 2, 3, or 4 since I only need to control one set of lights for now but I can control up to four different set of lights if I needed to with this controller.

Dont get me wrong I think the AI nano is a great product but since I dont have one I can't say which is better. I have herd nothing but good thing from the AI LED kits but I cant say which is better. Just sharing on Steve's LED's incase anyone else was thinking about this route

The ai nano ramp times are setup by a time start and a ramp time. For my sunrise I have
Start: 8am
Max percent- 25%
Ramp time: 4 hours
So at 12 my AI ramps from 0-25 percent over a four hour period.
You also have eight timer functions, each with three channels and with the vegas each slot can have up to 20 channels

nice I'm wanting to bump up my % but dont want to stress out coral since I had them under PC lights. So i'm going to do so over time slowly.

This is a nice unit but I feel like the LEDs are really close together. I really like my rapid led kit.
