Hey gang, hopefully this will be my last tank move for some time. Sheila and I just bought a house and this weekend will be our move date. I need some help Sun morning to move the stand and and everything else over to the new house. It's a close move from where I currently live, about a mile. I just bought a new tank, 150 tall, to replace the leaking 90 gallon. I might need a person or two to help Sat afternoon/evening at the new house getting it unloaded. I don't know how fast this new tank is going to go up so I am looking for someone or someones to hold my livestock to the new tank gets set up and settled. So any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

are you reusing all rock and filtration from the 90?? you could transfer it all in one day ive done it many times if all parameters match such as salinity and temp it can be done quickly, with minimal stress. how many fish and coral?

Having done this a couple of times myself, I'd recommend using new sand or rinsing your existing sand really well. Also, I used a couple of bottles of bio-spira just to be on the safe side. Chris is right though, it should be doable.

Yes, I will be reusing my rock and filtration for now. Sand will be rinsed and maybe a bag or two added due to the increased depth of the tank. It's five fish, maxima clam, two rbta's and a few zoas and shrooms. Later I want to plumb in the sump I just purchased from John. I know a take down and install can be done in a day, but I just want a "plan B" just in case it doesn't go back up. I had issues after I took my old 110 down and couldn't get it back up in time. I don't want to go through that again losing fish and corals.

Thanks, Ben I got ya down. Mostly I just need help moving that tank around and a secondary storage unit. To move most my current tank tank water. I just picked up the tank yesterday and it's heavier than it looks. Do I need to offer free beer and pizza or a frag to get more volunteers?

Hey dude,
No need for pizza and beer. I may be available that morning, location and pre planning with missus will factor in.

The way its looking the move will be on Sun morning. Sorry for the delay in the replies. The wife and I have been literally burning the midnight oil the last two days painting to a point so the carpet people could come in and install carpet today. And there not done yet, finishing up tomorrow. Also I will be concrete staining and finishing trim work tomorrow in the living room where we will be putting the tank. I'm thinking about starting around 9 - 930 on Sun. Hopefully it won't take to long, I just need storage tanks for my current tank water, muscle (the new 150 is not light), and knowledge in helping with this move. Here's my current address, 7927 Rugged Ridge, SA, TX 78254. PM me call/text me if you can make it, 210-860-7898. Please excuse the mess, but it's been long nights and weekends to get the new house in it's current state, and where not done yet with the remodel.
Chris, PM when I might be able to pick those storage tanks up. I'll be out Sat morning

i cant promise my help but emily said we may be able too. what did you decide on sand and livestock? if you can get water made and new sand we can get everything back in new tank asap as long as all filtration is there for new tank. ive done many moves for louis with a perfect record, as long as new tank is ready to go, it can be done. let me know if you want more info ill pm you my number im up late so feel free to call me. and my your welcome to my gear either way.

I just want to send a big thanks out to Jason for helping me most of the day getting my new 150 tall up and not quite running. Still need more saltwater. Also I want to thank Chris, aka Big Pun, for letting me borrow his brute cans, mag 24, and phython hose to help move all that water.
