Fish recomendations please

Concerning my 55 gallon, was originally intending it to be a reef tank with corals and fish. However, due to the amount I still need to spend to make this 55 gallon into a sustainable reef tank and the amount of work arounds I would have to do, I am post poning corals all together till my next tank setup. So reef safe or not does not matter.

Wife wants a fish that has plenty of spunk and personality. Just needs to be able to be in a 55gallon with 2 blue damsels, inverts, scallop, and a firefish.

If your tank has a canopy, some sort of wrasse

If not, flame hawkfish, a dottyback, they can be kind of aggressive so your firefish might not be too happy, but your damsels can be aggressive too. Maybe some chromis, cardinals if you like them.

Why are corals a no for now?

Corals are a no for now because IMO I need a sump and a skimmer, because of the way the stand is, I cant get a sump in there, or even just a skimmer. Plus alot more money that I just do not have will need to go into it, skimmer, lights, sump, etc. So I am holding off on a reef tank till I can set up my 145, and set it up right.
