Needing a syphon hang on the back overflow box. Mine started leaking so I tried hose clamps. Still leaked. So I read about putting jb waterweld and it seemed to be working fine. Until now. I can feel it getting really soft and cold where I put the weld. It seems as if water is working its way through. I don't really have much money at the moment. But j don't think it's gonna last any longer. Also don't have a back up filter so I have no choice but to leave the sump on. I can trade a fairly good size toadstool for it. Maybe a bit of cash on top. I'm just in need of one ASAP before it leaks. Thank you. 2103647246

Where is it leaking from? I think tony had a overflow box that needed a bulkhead but I'm not sure if it had been given away already.

Where the PVC and box meet at the bottom. It looks like the plastic weld cracked and water was dripping out. That's where I put the weld.

Did it just start leaking? Or did you drop something on it?

Have you tried shutting down the return, drying it off, and sealing it?

No it was leaking when I set it up. It was used.

Yeah that's what I did when I found it leaking the first time.
Im new to the whole sump overflow thing. That's kind why I'm freaking out.

Did you put the waterweld on both sides of the crack? I stopped a leak around my RO container spigot about 4 months ago with waterweld by putting it on both sides of the containers wall and its rock hard and holding still.

Hey,

If someone does have an overflow that he can use or buy, I can toss in some other frags in addition to his toadstool.

I don't know anything about waterweld, but if the overflow is made out of acrylic perhaps if you took it off line and identified the crack, a bit of Weldon4 would work? Doesn't take long for it to cure and that stuff seems to be good at holding acrylic together.

I dont have an extra one myself, but do have some advice. Instead of the JB Weld, which I am not even sure if it is suppose to stay submerged after it cures. Look into getting some acrylic glue and a couple of pieces of scrap acrylic. If you mix the two together you can make a paste out of it (similiar to jb weld), just make sure what ever you apply it to is clean and dry and give it ample time to cure.

I only put it on the outside. I did read it was reef safe on a couple websites but still wasn't too convinced to put it on the inside with my water making 100% contact with it.

I really apreciate that Allan really.
ThAnk you.

Its a harder plastic overflow. So I'm thinking of just replacing the whole thing if I can find one.
