Just curious as to how forum or what forum members keep in their refugium.... My old tank refugium had rubble, sand and chaeto.... Just curious if this was overkill or what members recommend?

with your sump I would run just cheato and some rock ,large pieces to slow flow in sump area. i put rock to keep cheato from going into pump chamber

Man, Chris, I'm glad that you quoted him so I could tell which post you were posting to. lol

I'd do as Chris stated, Sergio, I'm running chaeto and about three or four rocks in the chaeto chamber.

Rubble rock has a tendency to store detritus. And a deep sand bed should have like six inches to be effective.

So there's no confusion, I'm posting in reference to the quote. Lol :). I keep macro, a bunch of live rock and use miracle mud for substrate. It worked great and I plan on doing the same with the new build. Also thinking of actually aquascaping it with several different types of macro.

I'm bare bottom ::no icon::, with pulsing Xenia, dragons breath macro and some live rock pieces...

Bare bottom makes it easy to clean the detritus that builds up....

i just started using Xenia and I don't know it's going to work out... But before I had grape calupera, chaeto and live rock...
