OK, I will be building a DSA 65 gallon that I picked up from LFS. I went with the black matching stand. I have some awesome plans for this aquarium, but funds are gonna make this build a slow one. This is what I have for equipment so far. Let me know what you think.

1. 2 Ecotech MP40
2. Tunze 3152 Osmolator
3. Sicce 5.0 return pump

I will post pictures later on. Thanks. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

You're off to a good start! Those dsa 65's are really nice. I have a dsa 185. They're great tanks.

Dang, 2x mp40 is a lot! What's the difference between the DSA Neo 65 and the pro?

sicce 5 seems a lil big for 65 gallon tank, i only run 2x sicce 2 on my 150, and most guys with 120 run sicce 4. 2 40 is great those you can dial back and use later if you upgrade

Do you really think so? The pump has some sort of flow regulator. Do you think its still a problem?

What size sicce do you recommend?

With the 2 40s, you will have way more than enough flow up top. Most on here like slow flow through the sump..

maybe a sicce 3? Chris will probably know more though on the sicce...

I have a sicce 3 on my DSA pro 105 and it puts out some good flow.

I'm running a mag 9.5 on my closed loop but picked up a Sicce 5.0 to run instead. I'm starting to wonder if its not too much now.

sicce 3 split is fine, I believe you have two return lines and one drain. how big is your sump ?

replacing my mag 9.5 with a sicce 5 was one of the best upgrades I have done....
