Recently there were some changes made to the settings of the forum's webhost. These were changed to help with problems accessing the site, whether it is down or the DNS lookup failed or whatever. We are still having problems with it even today. I don't know much of anything about the site's budget but I suggest that if possible, we switch webhosts to something similar to the austinreefclub's forum. I've never had a problem with getting onto their site. I just want to know what all of the other people on MAAST think about this issue.

First, not sure if there were any recent changes. We have been talking with our current webhost in regards to recent problems. Week before last we and issues because of a record keeping error on their part which their system recognized us as a delinquent account therefore the site was shut down each day. That has been fixed. I personally spoke with management at the company several times in a 2 day period. The BOD has in fact started discussions about the issues the site is having. These will be discussed further at the next BOD meeting and all options will be looked at. As for the matter if jumping to another host? The current company has stood behind us on several occasions and I would like to give them the benefit of doubt and let them have a chance to correct the issues first. Second, everything costs money as we all know. There are way too many people that enjoy the site and information and pay nothing.

Understood, I was just talking to karin about it on facebook while the site was down earlier today. Just wanted to get people's opinions and get some information on it from BOD members. Sorry for being one of those web members btw lol That'll change soon hopefully.

I won't ever call anyone out personally. Don't worry about that and don't take it as a jab towards you.

It will be discussed and we will see what options we have as well.

I don't recall any changes being made. From what I recall, the host had been running an email server on the shared server MAAST is hosted on, thus becoming a resource hog for that piece of hardware. Since they removed that, things have been stable. Until last week.

Tapatalk issues would be related to the forum software, not the host. MAAST runs on VBulletin while ARC runs on IP Board. Different software, different compatibility. No matter what host MAAST is on, it would still run the same software (unless it was migrated). Some tapatalk features don't work well on RC either. Everything works here though.

I work for Rackspace (http://rackspace.com) here in San Antonio. If changes do need to be made, let me know. I might be able to help out for as little as $0 per month. :P
