I'm bored again and want to set up a new cube. Problem is not sure what I want to do or which tank I want.

Some preliminary planning has led me to a simple design of the tank being anywhere from 14" to 20" squared. Filtration will be simple and I was researching different mods for the AC70. Lighting will be led - most likely a pendant style. No skimmer, no sump, maybe a fuge.

Livestock plans are maxi mini and rock anemones with palys and maybe some cool lps. Not sure. This will be another one set up at home.

What tanks are out there? I have looked at the most common and haven't been as impressed as I used to be. I want clear glass (tired of looking through green) and no trim. Been leaning towards the solana bright cube or custom such as reef savvy or having dsa build one.

Man, I've been feeling the same way. But I think I'd want to tie into the main system.

John i really dig the look of the Nuvo aquarium line. The Nuvo 8 is a little smaller than your are looking but if you want a cube you could go up to the nuvo 16 or 30.

That's the problem. Not sure what I want yet. I have been looking at some all in ones like the Nuvo line. I think I am leaning toward simplicity. I am picturing a wide open tank. No nooks and crannies to clean, no skimmers to tweak me. Simplicity and enjoyment. Plus the simpler I go the more I can spend on LEDs and livestock.

I still remember your idea of the bowl Ray. That was cool

I am still going to set up the bowl, but im going a planted freshwater with it. I didnt want to deal with scraping coraline algae off the curved surface. Holds about 14gallons.

Been thinking more about setting up this "simplistic" tank.

Found some scape ideas.

John, Have you considered the Mr. Aqua 25 gallon cube? They offer it in a low iron version. Also, I picked up the AC-70, if you need any measurements lmk.

Not yet. I'll check it out though. I have gone back and forth about buying one from reef savvy.

I was also thinking about the ac70 vs going bigger. If the 70 is my only filtration I'm getting kind if scared. Might go with the 100 and put a different impeller in it to slow it down.

If your going bigger I would probably go with the 110. The 70 is on my tank because 1, the surface skimmer I'm buying for it only fits the 70 and two, the flow for the 70 is more than enough for my 7.5 cube.
